A human powered, collaborative competition of arm wrestling with two mechanical arms which are powered by human energy harvesting mechanisms.

Ohm Wrestling is a human powered, collaborative mechanical arm wrestling competition.

Two mechanical arms are setup in arm wrestling position for teams Blue and Orange. Each team has an array of energy harvesting devices behind them feeding into the corresponding arm. The various devices showcase different methods of harvesting kinetic energy from human motion, energy that the participants  can use to power their team’s arm. The harder the teams work, the more power they will produce to give more force to their arm to win the competition.

The devices will showcase a myriad of ways we can harvest energy through different forms of human motion. These include acts such as shaking an arm, pedaling a bike, jumping, swinging, etc.

Variables that contribute to a team winning the competition include the amount of watts produced as well as the endurance of the team (how long they can last at peak energy production levels). A large meter will reflect the teams' status/energy produced for the competitors and the audience.  The makers of this project will also bring a performative crew to attract  crowds and cheer the participants along in the competition.

This was our initial design/layout.  It has the centered arm mechanism with the larger universal meter in the back (to assist spectators in knowing who was winning).  At this stage we are still working out what exact mechanisms we want to implement.
